The E-Pacer combines the powerful electric lift column and secure body support of Rifton’s TRAM with the key gait training features of the classic Pacer. The result is more than the sum of its parts. The E-Pacer can be a life-changing solution for clients who have grown too large or too dependent to be safely transferred into manual gait trainers. Its strong and stable frame can accommodate users up to 6′ 5″ and 350 lbs.

The carefully engineered, telescoping lift column gives the E-Pacer an amazing range of adjustment. It can be raised high enough to support a 6’5″ walking client and then retract down to 32¾” for compact storage.
The switch pole accessory allows a caregiver or client to operate the electric lift without bending down.
In the absence of the switch pole or caregiver handle, the lift is operated with up/down buttons on the battery case.
The innovative casters have swivel lock, brake, variable drag, and directional lock functionality. Use any combination to control the E-Pacer’s speed and direction.
Swivel lock: Each caster’s swivel can be locked independently. Lock all four to help clients walk in a straight line, or just the two rear casters to eliminate drifting sideways. Release swivel locks on all casters for movement in any direction.
Directional lock: Set each caster to prevent involuntary backward movement. (Only works with swivel locks engaged.)
Variable drag: Made with the same material used in automotive brakes, our variable drag feature gives you greater control with the simple twist of a dial.
The optional odometer makes it easy to measure distance covered.
The odometer looks simple, but is highly versatile.
To reset display to 0, press the reset button. To display total lifetime distance traveled, press and hold button for one second. Lifetime distance will be displayed in kilometers or thousands of feet, depending on unit setting. To switch between feet or meters, press and hold button until units change (approximately 10 seconds).
The optional scale can measure the weight a client is bearing on their feet during gait training to track their progress. It can also be used to weigh a client during a transfer.
Note: Purchasers must decide on the scale option at the time of purchase.
If the scale is paired with a tablet or phone via Bluetooth, the Gait Tracker App can track the client’s weight bearing progress.
Swinging the leg expander bar spreads the E-Pacer frame to fit around large wheelchairs.
With the scale you can weigh your clients during routine transfers. You can also measure the weight they’re bearing during gait training. And when the scale is paired with a tablet or phone via Bluetooth, Rifton’s new Gait Tracker app can track your client’s weight-bearing progress.

The smartphone can then be attached to the E-Pacer’s handhold using a smartphone bike handlebar mount, allowing the client to see their progress while the caregiver views the scale monitor.

The front handle allows a caregiver to maneuver and guide the E-Pacer. It includes an up/down switch which adjusts the height of the body support.
The front handle makes it easy to maneuver a client during a seated transfer.
The switch pole lets a caregiver operate the electric lift without bending down (when not using the front handle).
The switch pole can also be turned around to give the client control of the lift.
Versatile arm prompts include height, rotation, angle, lateral proximity and forward/backward adjustments, to accommodate numerous positioning requirements.

In their forward position, the arm prompts encourage a forward leaning posture; further back, they promote upright posture.
Arm platforms are a simple arm support alternative for clients who need less positioning. They attach to our adjustable arm prompt base and are made of integral skin foam for padded comfort and easy cleaning.

The hip positioner is designed to encourage good positioning for gait training. It enables natural pelvic movement and lower extremity weight-shifting, and provides good abduction.
A pad is available for extra comfort.
Available in three sizes, the pelvic support is used for sit-to-stand transfers and gait training. It can also be used for fall prevention, making it suitable for early mobility in recovery.
It may fit the client best when the straps are crossed as shown in the photo.

Ankle prompts attach to the bottom bar of the E-Pacer frame and have padded straps that can be adjusted to prevent scissoring.
Movable clips on the ankle prompt bar regulate stride length and placement.
For settings where infection control is critical we offer an alternative back belt with a clip at both ends for easy removal and sanitation.
Maximum circumference remains at 60″.
An additional battery may be needed in settings where frequent medical transfers are being made each day. A fully charged battery should deliver approximately 70 complete lift cycles depending on user weight.
